This Privacy Policy explains how GB Partners LLC ("GB Partners", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares, stores and deletes personal information. It applies to www.gbpartnersllc.com and to the applications we operate, including GB Partners Case Tracker, our case status notification tool.

1. Who we are
GB Partners LLC is a law firm. We provide immigration, corporate, foreign investment and financial advisory services to individuals and companies. Camila Giraldo Bolivar is admitted to practice in the State of New York, Bar No. 5908918.

2. What data we collect
We collect only what we need to provide legal services. Specifically:
Identity and contact data. Your name, date of birth, nationality, passport number, national identification number, postal address, email address and telephone number.
Immigration case data. USCIS receipt numbers, alien registration numbers (A-numbers), case types, filing dates, case status history and government correspondence about your matter.
Financial information. Bank details, proof of funds, tax identification numbers and invoices, when the service you hired requires them. Examples are foreign investment filings and estate planning.
Family and civil status data. Marriage, birth and death records, and information about relatives, when your case requires proof of a family relationship.
Documents you send us. Passports, civil registries, certificates, contracts and any other file you upload or email to us.
Website usage data. Your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, collected through our website provider.
3. What data we do not collect
We do not collect geolocation data. We do not collect your device contacts. We do not collect health or medical information, unless a specific immigration filing requires a medical examination record, and in that case we tell you before you send it. We do not collect genetic information.
4. How we use your data
We use your data to:
Provide the legal services you hired us for, including preparing and filing applications.
Check the status of your cases with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and notify you when a status changes. GB Partners Case Tracker queries the USCIS Case Status API once per day, using only the receipt numbers of cases we filed for our own represented clients.
Communicate with you about your matter.
Invoice you and keep our accounting records.
Comply with our legal, tax and professional obligations.
We do not use your data for automated decision making. We do not use it for advertising or profiling.
5. De-identified and anonymized data
We may produce aggregate statistics that cannot identify you, such as the average processing time of a case type. We treat de-identified, anonymized and pseudonymized data under the same rules as identifiable data: we do not sell it, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.
6. We do not sell your data
We do not sell your personal information. We have never sold it. We do not exchange it for money or for any other thing of value, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
7. Who we share your data with, and why
We share your data only when it is necessary, and only with:
Government authorities. USCIS, the U.S. Department of State, the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migracion Colombia, the Colombian tax authority and other agencies, when a filing requires it. They use the data to decide your application.
Associated counsel and translators. Lawyers and certified translators who work on your matter. They use the data only to do that work.
Service providers. Our email and file storage provider (Microsoft), our website provider (Wix), our payment processor (Stripe) and our electronic signature provider (Docusign). They process the data only to run those services for us.
We name these entities so you know exactly who touches your information. We do not share your data with marketers, data brokers or advertising partners.
8. Third parties are bound by this policy
Every third party listed above is bound by contract to the terms of this Privacy Policy. They may not use or disclose your information, including de-identified, anonymized or pseudonymized information, for any purpose of their own, for any reason, without your active consent. Sharing with government authorities is the exception: it happens because you asked us to file your application, and it is limited to what the filing requires.
9. Your choices about sharing
You choose what you send us and what we file. If you ask us not to share a specific document, we will tell you plainly what that means for your case. In many immigration filings, withholding a required document means the application is denied or rejected. That is the main risk of limiting sharing.
The benefit of sharing is that we can file a complete application and follow it to a decision. The limitation is that once a document is filed with a government agency, we cannot retrieve it. The agency keeps it under its own rules.
10. When your data affects other people
Family-based immigration and estate matters often require information about other people: your spouse, your children, your parents, your siblings. Filing that information can affect them. It may reveal a family relationship, an immigration history, a birth outside marriage, or the existence of assets. Before you send us information about another person, make sure they know and agree. If you are not sure, ask us first.
We do not collect or file genetic test results unless a government agency requires DNA evidence of a family relationship. If that happens, we explain the consequences to every person involved before anything is collected.
11. How long we keep your data
We keep your case file for ten years after your matter closes. Professional responsibility rules and the statutes of limitation that apply to legal malpractice require that period.
We keep accounting records for the period required by Colombian and United States tax law, which is currently five years.
If your account or file is dormant, meaning you have not contacted us and we have no open matter for you, we keep the file for the same ten years and then delete it.
After those periods, we delete the data or we anonymize it so that it can no longer identify you.
12. How to delete your data
Write to info@gbpartnersllc.com with the subject "Data deletion request". Tell us your full name and, if you have one, your case number. You do not need to give a reason.
We confirm receipt within five business days. We complete the deletion within thirty calendar days of your request. When it is done, we send you written confirmation.
We delete the data from our live systems and from our backups. Backup deletion can take up to ninety days, because backups are rotated on a schedule. We do not restore deleted data from a backup.
There is one limit. If a law requires us to keep a record, or if the document was already filed with a government agency, we cannot delete that record. We tell you exactly which records we kept and why, and we delete everything else.
13. How to close your account
Write to info@gbpartnersllc.com and ask us to close your file. We stop the case status notifications immediately. We confirm the closure in writing within five business days. Closing your file does not delete your data. If you also want your data deleted, say so, and we follow section 12.
14. If there is a data breach
If your personal information is exposed in a security incident, we notify you by email within seventy-two hours of confirming the breach. The notice tells you what data was involved, when it happened, what we have done, and what you should do. If credentials were exposed we tell you to change them and where. We also notify the authorities that the law requires us to notify.
15. Your rights under California law
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what personal information we hold, to receive a copy of it, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Because we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, there is nothing for you to opt out of. To exercise any of these rights, write to info@gbpartnersllc.com. We respond within forty-five calendar days.
16. If our firm is sold or closes
If GB Partners is sold, merges or ends its business, we notify every client by email at least thirty days before the transfer.
The buyer must adopt policies that give you the same protection as this one. If the buyer will not commit to that, you may choose one of these options before the transfer: we securely destroy your data, we transmit it to a lawyer you name, or we send you a copy so you can download and keep it.
17. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that affects your rights, we ask for your active consent before the change applies to you. We email you a plain-language summary of what changed, in short numbered points, and a link to the new text. You consent by clicking the confirmation link in that email. If you do not consent, the previous version continues to apply to your data, and we tell you what that means for the services you receive.
For changes that do not affect your rights, such as a corrected address or a clearer sentence, we update the date at the top of this page.

These Terms govern your use of www.gbpartnersllc.com and of the applications operated by GB Partners LLC, including GB Partners Case Tracker. By using the site or the application, you accept these Terms.

2. The website is not legal advice
The content of this website is general information. It is not legal advice, and reading it does not make you our client. An attorney-client relationship begins only when we sign a written engagement agreement with you.
Immigration law changes often. Do not act on anything you read here without talking to a lawyer about your own situation.
3. GB Partners Case Tracker
Case Tracker is a tool for our own clients. It checks the status of a case with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services once per day and notifies you and your attorney when the status changes.
We only track receipt numbers of cases we filed for clients we represent. We do not track third-party cases. We do not sell access to the tool.
Case Tracker reports what the USCIS system says. It does not interpret it, and a status change is not legal advice. USCIS controls the data and its availability. If their service is down or their information is wrong or delayed, we cannot correct it. We are not responsible for a delay that originates with the agency.
4. Your responsibilities
You agree to give us information that is true, complete and current, and to tell us promptly when it changes, especially your address, your telephone number and your immigration status.
You agree not to use our site or our applications to break the law, to try to access another person's case, or to interfere with how the service works.
If you send us information about another person, you confirm that they know and agree.
5. Fees
Fees are set in the written proposal we send you before the work begins. Government filing fees are separate unless the proposal says otherwise. Fees are payable in advance unless we agree otherwise in writing.
6. Your data
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and how you can have it deleted. It is part of these Terms. Read it at the Privacy Policy page of this site.
7. Closing your account
Write to info@gbpartnersllc.com to close your file or to stop notifications. We confirm in writing within five business days. To also delete your data, follow the deletion procedure in our Privacy Policy.
8. Limits on our liability
We are responsible for the professional services we agree in writing to provide. We are not responsible for the outcome of a government decision, for how long an agency takes, or for a loss caused by information you gave us that was incomplete or wrong.
Nothing here limits a liability that the law does not allow us to limit, including liability for fraud or for willful misconduct.
9. Intellectual property
The text, images and design of this site belong to GB Partners LLC. You may read and print them for your own use. You may not republish or sell them without our written permission.
10. Changes to these Terms
If we change these Terms in a way that affects your rights, we ask for your active consent before the change applies to you. We email you a plain-language summary of what changed and a link to the new text, and you consent by clicking the confirmation link. If you do not consent, the previous version continues to apply to you.
For corrections that do not affect your rights, we update the date at the top of this page.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Colombia. Services provided under United States law are governed by the law of the State of New York. Disputes are resolved in the courts of Medellin, Colombia, unless the written engagement agreement says otherwise.
